Why Get a Membership?

Perhaps the biggest advantage of having a membership is having the freedom to come climb at no additional cost (if you own your own gear) any time the gym is open. Climb all day or climb for a half hour without feeling like you're not getting your money's worth. Memberships do not include free equipment rentals, so we recommend purchasing your own climbing shoes, harness, and belay device to complement your membership. Ask any of our staff for equipment recommendations. Sunrift Adventures in Travelers Rest is a great place to find climbing equipment.

Family Membership

Family memberships are a very cost effective way to get your entire family into the sport of climbing. Family memberships are for as many people as are in your immediate family. Though your closest friends may be like family to you, unfortunately we cannot accept them as part of a family membership.

What Is Bouldering?

Bouldering can be done in the gym in designated bouldering areas and anywhere else in the gym up to a safe height. Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. Most bouldering climbers use climbing shoes to help secure footholds, chalk to keep their hands dry, and bouldering mats to prevent injuries from falls.

Belay Service

The belayer is the person who holds the other end of the rope to keep the climber from falling. If you have not reserved the gym for a group but still need belay service, one of our trained staff members will be able to belay at a rate of $15 per hour.

Are you a first timer?

All first time climbers are required to go through a belay safety check with one of our trained staff members. The first time user fee includes the cost of the belay safety check, full gym access for the entire day, and all of the recommended gear (including shoes and harness).
